"Sicily - Island of Arethusa": Duration of the exhibition has been extended

Due to the great interest shown by visitors, the coin exhibition at the Archaeological Museum of the University of Münster has been extended until 27 March 2026.

The exhibition displays a large selection of Sicilian coins. Two major donations from private collections have expanded the existing collection to almost 2,000 Sicilian pieces – a fabulous treasure for a university collection.
Supplemented by other non-numismatic objects that originate from Sicily or have a connection to Sicily, topics such as ‘Water in Sicily’, ‘Gods and (local) myths’, ‘Competition and war’, and ‘Counterfeit ancient coins’ are presented. In addition to classic coin display cases, a multimedia station allows visitors to travel through ‘Sicily from A to Z’.
